Let’s talk about the (slightly awkward) elephants in the room: Moonpig and FunkyPigeon. These two giants dominate the UK greeting card scene, plastering their names across ads, TV spots, and search results like they invented the very concept of saying “Happy Birthday”.
And while we can respect a well-oiled marketing machine, competing against them as a small, independent card business? It’s no joke.
At Wickedly Funny, we’re not backed by a boardroom or a massive ad budget. We don’t have celebrity endorsements or fancy jingle ads on telly. What we do have? A passion for seriously funny, often wildly inappropriate cards that actually make people laugh. You know... cards with personality, not polished plastic rubbish.
But here’s the reality:
The big brands make it hard for indie creators to stand out. They dominate search engines. Their bulk buying power means they can undercut prices. And thanks to years of name recognition, most people default to them without even thinking.
So how do we compete?
By being unapologetically us. We hand-pick every single card. We deliver top-tier service with our small team. And we keep our prices fair, because we can.
We’re not trying to be Moonpig OR FunkyPigeon. We’re Wickedly Funny, independent and proud.
Every time someone chooses to support us instead of the corporate giants, it’s a tiny victory for independent creativity. And trust us... it means the world!
